Solano Recovery Project provides the training required to becoming a Mentor, Recovery Coach, or other volunteer.
The training outline below is subject to changing.
Basic Training I: We are “Peer” volunteers with integrity, not professionals. Staying on our side of the street.
Introduction to UHRC’s “Recovery Connect” and “Bridges to Recovery” programs, applications and forms completed and signed, 24/7 helpline, ethics and confidentiality, education and advocacy.
Basic Training II: How it works. The nuts and bolts.
Review Basic Training I, Recovery Oriented System of Care, (ROSC), Cultural Competency, and intro to mentorship/phone support.
Mentorship II: The ultimate weapon, “Each one Teach one”
Peer-to-peer mentorship principles, boundaries, responsibilities, limitations.
Recovery Coaching: The guiding light into a world of life-long recovery.
Annually offered 3 to 5 day training.
